Pornography? The Key to Happiness?

Expanding on our reading showing that the average porn star is happier than the average women, I wanted to explore this thought.  When I looked at Table 14.2 in our book I was shocked at seeing that the mean porn actress has fewer negative emotions, more positive emotions, and have more sexual satisfaction.  What are we missing that they have?

A blog post by Doug Mataconis discusses the Damaged Goods Theory and the shame it brings on porn stars.  He talks about the shame we correlate with sex and therefore pornography.  If a porn star has no shame is she happier?  He also discusses the successes of some porn stars from Asia Carrera who had an IQ of 156 and Sasha Grey who is also very successful.

Most of the articles I found discusses the same study our book talks about and I think there needs to be more research here.  Maybe we need to take some lessons from a porn star?
