Alisa Vitti’s story is
amazing! She is a celebrated health practitioner and nutritionist who founded
FLO Living Center in New York City and claims that, “women who get into
partnerships with their bodies end up becoming the fullest expression of
themselves, and living as leaders and change agents of their lives and
communities.”
To understand how the
body works, it helps to understand how the body is organized. Alisa breaks down
different stages of a woman’s 30-day cycle and explains that, during certain
stages, our bodies naturally help us do some things better. Everything form
tapping into your creative energy to the best times to negotiate business deals
to recognizing the moments when you just need to take a chill pill. She has
some great insight about how being in tune with your body can open the door to
a life full of success and positive change.
Although, in some
ways, we live in a highly sexual culture, we rarely hear about real sexual
experiences or feel comfortable talking about sex in our everyday conversations.
Entering a relationship with your body in which you recognize cycles, how they
tie them into your everyday life, and are able to implement what you know about
your body into keener decision-making. “Knowledge is power.” Knowing the facts
helps you to make smarter decisions. This could promote greater comfort with
the topic of sex, which could yield a plethora of positive consequences.
Something Alisa said
stood out to me from her TEDTalk. She stated that. “ If a women is in line, in
harmony, with her internal ecosystem, it begins to impregnate the ecology of
her entire life […] your body is a change agent that can effect the rest of
your life. If we can become fluent in the language of our physiology, we can
have access to an infinite source energy, vitality, clarity, and unwavering
purpose.” With that said, what kinds of outcomes could you foretell coming from
having, say, a mandatory class in schools for girls in which they are taught
how to create this partnership with their bodies, recognize cycles, and manage
their time and lives accordingly?
